Profound and funny. I believe we'll soon have AI's that can screen our texts and calls. Perhaps Jenny and your digital assistant will fall in love.

"Jenny. I am a homosexual. This won't work on me." should be on a T-shirt. It's even funnier with no context.

"I have a robust ecosystem of friendship in my life, but there are nonetheless gaps in communication where silence sets in and presents itself as a statement on how infrequently people consider me in their daily lives." I know this isn't the primary focus of this piece, but wow, do I need a full piece on this. I've been really struggling lately with feeling that I initiate nearly every contact or hangout with my (dear!) friends, and does that mean something, or do I just think it does, etc. etc. Being a sensitive person is hard. Thanks for your writing which always makes me feel a bit more understood.

Thank you for this article! My 90 year old Dad, a captain of industry back in his day and street smart to boot, is vulnerable every single day because he lets the fear and embarrassment of not understanding tech drive his impulsivity. He literally CANNOT simply delete the garbage. That would be terrifying to him. So I ask him to send everything to me, and let that be the calming, decisive action he needs to lay the terror of the Unknown to rest. And that ‘kinda’ works for him. But now I get twice as much garbage to pick through and that’s not so good for me, you know? F**k you, Jenny.

"It’s not that scammers are consciously in service of The Man. They are more akin to unsexy pirates, skirting morality and the law to pillage and pilfer, while CEOs prefer more official channels to conduct their ransacking."

I think your analogy's deep on many levels. Scammers are to pirates what Musk and other CEOs are to the East India Trading Company. Same tools for success, but backed by royal charter and free to do as they please, so long as they don't hurt the crown's treasury or image.

Frankly, I hate Jenny and her all her evil gods and all their evil minions. Dealing with them has necessarily caused me to change for the worse even while my loving mother begs me not to change from the sunny, optimistic person I was prior to all the Jennys. HUGS Papi.

I know this is quite some distance from the main point, but a few years back, during a very lonely trip to San Antonio that wasn't much fun at the time but that I remember very fondly now, for reasons, I made an account with the local transit agency, to buy bus tickets or something like that. Ever since, they've been emailing me every few months, with news, service updates, and even public consultations - they wanted my opinion! Those emails usually brought a bit of a smile to my face, but a few months ago I got one, shrugged, and unsubscribed. This made me a bit sad, now.
